Jag rynkade ögonbrynen och sa "Well it happens". Han log och frågade vidare "How often". Jag rynkade lite mer på de tudelade ryamattan "I reckon 3 times a week". Åldringen tog till orda "That ads up to 54 600:- in 10 years and add inflation to that and you will end up with a layout of 59 000:- net or 90 000:- brut. If you had invested 90 000:- in Microsoft when they were introduced to the stock exchange you would have had many millions by now and could have lived off the intrest".
Han fortsatte "You know inestment is not brainsurgery but it has to do with knowledge and time. Add to that tajming and a goal and you can make all your dreams come true. What scares me today is that we do not understand the value of money and how wealth is created. If I were in your shoes I would read and study risk and do take them when they appear. Do not follow the mainstream and make sure to spread your eggs in that famous nest. When I was 49 I had 800 000 US and now they have turned into 60 million US in 28 years. It might not sound much and 28 years is a good portion of time. Mind you, it is a return of roughly 2 million US a year or 40 000 swedish kronor per day for the last 3 decades. And another tip is to avoid instant gratifications. They are good for next to nothing. You know to be frugile gives you peace of mind and it is an exhalarating state if you go through with it. Good luck".
Jag frågade också "If you got a car what is the best way of saving money when having a car". 77 åringen med ett barns nyfikna intresse harklade sig för att sedan konstatera "Buy a pushbike".
